About Us

North Ryde Community Aid and Information Centre (NRCA) was established in 1979 by members of the North Ryde Uniting Church, now North Ryde Community Church.

In response to the need in the local area, these residents set up an office in the front room of a local house, and soon a social group on a Thursday was started which continues to be enjoyed today.

Over time other groups and programs were established and these developed into the support which continues today.

Our community work is coordinated by a culturally diverse team of staff, ably assisted by volunteers from our local community.

Some of these services are now funded by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care as Home and Community Care (HACC) services and are provided to older people as well as to those with a disability and to their carers.

North Ryde Community Aid & Information Centre strives to build a caring community, where people know and respect one another, assist one another and contribute to the common good.

Our Front Desk is attended from 9am to 4 pm - Monday to Friday.

Sandra Foley - Centre Manager

I studied a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Queensland and graduated in 1993.
For the past 15 years I have worked in the area of Community Services supporting people with disabilities and the frail aged.

Upon moving to Sydney from Brisbane 6 years ago, I was successful and fortunate in securing the position as Centre Coordinator for North Ryde Community Aid. I say fortunate because this Centre is an amazing and dynamic place to work.

After a period of time as a volunteer on our Management Committee whilst on Maternity Leave I am now back working as the Centre Manager and loving it.

I live in the local area with my husband and 3 small children.

We rely on the valuable contribution of volunteers for a range of programs and activities.
